En Alentejo, cerca de la pequeña ciudad de Mouro en el este de Portugal, está a punto de ser completada la granja solar fotovoltaica más grande del mundo . Con un coste de 318 millones de euros, estará a pleno rendimiento a finales de año y doblará en tamaño a cualquier otro proyecto de su clase en el mundo. Entregará 45 MWp de potencia eléctrica, suficiente para abastecer a 300.000 hogares. El proyecto está siendo llevado a cabo por la empresa española Acciona.
